Peter Pugger Pug Mills:  In this video I go over how I use these mills to mix and recycle all my clay. Included are lots of troubleshooting tips and advice on how to decide on which model of mill to buy.

Bowl Series: Hi All, The bowl series was the first instructional video that I did and unfortunately I didn’t tell the camera person to pay close attention to getting lots of close ups of my hands. As I was watching the finished version I found myself yelling at the screen to get the camera off me and onto my hands! So, I feel your frustration at those points in the film. It was too expensive of a film to reshoot it and as there is lots of good information in it I have left it as it is. However, rest assured that for every shoot afterwards I have been sure to instruct the camera person to get lots of close ups  of my hands!

Heart Bowls:  Been wondering how I make these bowls? Wonder no more 🙂

Steps Involved in Making a Mug: There are many steps involved in making a mug! This video guides you through them all from start to finish.

Drop Collar Vessels: Ever since I  started doing this technique on some of my decorative vessels way back in the 80’s potters have been asking how it’s done.  It’s a ton of fun once you get the hang of it and can open many doors creatively. It is going to take a bit of practice to get the hang of it but once you do the fun begins!

Teapots: Follow along as I guide you through the process of making my teapots!

Rolled Rim Spout Bowls: These bowls are great for serving, preparing food, and baking!

Crawl Glaze Flower Bowls: In this video, I take you through all the steps involved in making one of my crawl glaze flower bowls, from throwing to glazing, to the final product.

Casseroles: These casseroles are part of my Peasant Ware collection and are always a top seller!

How I make my jugs

Pulling a Handle off the Mug: I know it’s a tad daunting to attempt to make your handles this way, but once you get the hang of it you’ll never go back. First, roll out a “lug” if clay around 3 inches long and 1 inch wide which slightly tapers towards the end, I give it a little squish at the top so it’s not completely round. Then joining the thicker end to the mug, blend it into the body and start to pull! This technique takes practice to try pulling handles off a glass jar until you feel you are ready to move on to trying it on a mug. Ever since I  started doing this technique on some of my decorative vessels way back in the 80’s potters have been asking how it’s done.  It’s a ton of fun once you get the hang of it and can open many doors creatively. It is going to take a bit of practice to get the hang of it but once you do the fun begins!

Attaching and Throwing a Knob on a Lid: I’ve always preferred to throw my lids upside down and then add the knob when trimming. I find this method gives you more control over the finished form.
